‘Bid for Life’… here are the results!

Team SCHLIX really enjoyed the ‘Do whatever you want just raise as much money as possible’ challenge by hosting the Bid for Life auction night.
The venue was nothing short of a palace giving the impression of elegance and grandeur. The guests were greeted with live jazz music and were able to participate in a silent auction, purchase raffle tickets and frequent the bar before the live auction started.

Our auctioneer was David Palmer featuring on the show ‘Flog it’ and ‘Cash in the Attic’. David was very vibrant and was able to generate a lively response from the guests adding humorous jokes along the way.

A big thank you to the other teams who also participated: A21 Disciples and Kamikaze Geckos. Without their help the night would not have been a success.

* Our overall net amount raised is £11,389 which is a fantastic result.

Remember the awareness campaign challenge? Well Team SCHLIX didn’t stop when the task was over and our GIVE VALUE campaign continues.

The NOT FOR SALE campaign continuous….

How awesome was Colour for the boys and girls… I was fortunate enough to serve at the A21 table. All the girls coming to colour was asked to bring some cosmetic products for the girls in the Greece. I was humbled by the amount of products being given to the girls. The quality of products was amazing. I got so excited to see how involved people will get if only they knew what they could do. Fantastic opportunity for all of us…..

So at Colour some of the girls of Team Dignity wore the Hoodies we have been selling during our campaign…and what do you know!!! People can’t walk past us without asking what the big bar code with not for sale on is all about. No we don’t have a choice but to put in another order for the hoodies and t-shirts. I thought I will give the other teams a chance to buys some as well. I am not sure how many of you actually don’t have them, but it’s worth a shot. We are selling the hoodies fr £12 each and the t-shirt for £5 each. If you would like one, please give me (Moreen) a call on 07914198954 before Thursday. I will put the order in on Thursday and you will have your order by this weekend. If you find it hard to talk to people about the injustice of Human trafficking, this is a tool that opens the door for some great conversation.

The t-shirts have the same print, just on a normal unisex t-shirt. Each item comes with a ‘not for sale’ armband.

A21 Apprentice reaches Oz

Having made aware about the A21 apprentice competition a group of friends in Sydney put on an auction night to raise money for A21. The purpose of the night was to bring 2 items to be auctioned and a small plate of supper.
They had a lot of fun bidding against one another with much laughter involved.. they can’t wait for the next one which will be held in a few months time.

On the night they had 22 people and raised $661.00AUD. The night was worth all the effort knowing that the money will be going straight to A21

This is one of the many ways you can raise money and have fun at the same time.

SHE MATTERS

The A21 All Stars are proud to present their final design for the final challenge – a T-shirt that reminds us how much God loves and cares for each and every ONE of us. It demonstrates our responsibility to get alongside the victim to console and rehabilitate her. It tells others that we care about her because SHE MATTERS to us.

We were supported by two expert T-shirt designers who provided us with ten different designs all of which are truly amazing but unfortunately, we could only choose one…

…so we opted for this simple yet eye-catching design with the original A21 logo on the front and the little paper cut men with the slogan ‘SHE MATTERS’ on the back.

The Globals getting shirty

We gathered our team to take on the challenge of one of the final tasks, designing the t-shirt to be the voice of her freedom. We had a brief brainstorm and started getting into the design process, starting off with sketches…

And finally we checked out the online tool to find out how we implement our designs.

So…our final t-shirt design? Here it is.

The front, in large bold typography “SAY NO”, playing within the current trend of large type message t-shirt designs, this outlines an intriguing message making viewers question “SAY NO” to what?

The back of the t-shirt is where all is revealed, the full message and the voice of the campaign. Making the combined message a rather strong statement and call to action to fight against human trafficking.

The t-shirt on a model? Well, I’m afraid you’re going to have to wait, as the company has failed to deliver their promise of a 5 day turn around. Keep checking back and we’ll post it up as soon as we get it!

Team Dignity Are Totally Shirty about Human Trafficking

Getting Shirty about Human Trafficking was an awesome challenge! Over the last couple of months we were stretched, challenged and most of the times totally in awe of how our friends families and business colleagues supported us, linked us with new networks and helped our cause.

We brainstormed and different team members and friends came up with different ideas. One of our first designs captured the heart of the team and everybody loved it! It was beautiful detailed and had a lovely “rock chick vibe” to it. However we realise our design need to be visually strong, powerful, unisex and appeal to every one. From granddad to teenager. We also had to keep in mind that this design needed to be cost effective when we print it.

We went back to the drawing board, requesting one after the other change from our graphic designer. We simplified our design but made it stronger. Again we were not satisfied. Only the best would be good enough for Team Dignity.

We realised that the message of The A21 Campaign needed to come through very clear. People are not for sale! We went back to the drawing board and finally decided on two very strong designs.

Both designs are unisex, will be appealing to young and old and are viable to sell on the high street. This morning by 10:00 we still could not decided which design was the strongest. It was a very close call with the team members torn between the two concepts. It was an exceptional hard choice but in the end we choose…
